Alcohol consumption also puts an individual at an increased risk for many health related conditions and diseases including increasing your risk for high cholesterol. Drinking alcohol increases your liver's duty to detoxify the blood, which can cause harm to your blood vessels. Imagine your liver multitasking in metablizing the LDL cholesterol and getting rid of alcohol at the same time, I'm tired just by the thought of it.
These double duty on a single shift, taxed the liver resulting in the inability to properly metablizing the bad cholesterol and leaving too much of it behind, this bad cholesterol then have a chance to stick itself in the arteries leading to heart and brain, when this happen, plaque start to form resulting in blood clots, at the heart it causes cornary heart diseases.
If the same happens along the arteries leading to the brain, stroke will be resulted.
When individuals remain inactive for long periods of time, they do not experience the exercise that can raise the heart rate for 20 to 30 minutes a day resulting in an increase in the HDL cholesterol level the good cholesterol.
It is a very good sign to have higher proportion of HDL as this is the very cholesterol that acts as a cleaner for the bad cholesterol.
The other effect of exercise is that it reduces our body weight especially if we are over weight, as obesity is also another risk factor for high cholesterol which may lead to heart diseas and stroke.
It is easy to increase your activity level simply by taking the dog for a walk, or doing simple household chores for at least a continual 20 to 30 minutes each day.
The other major cause of high cholesterol is actually mental and emotional stress, we always think such stress lead to other major health problem and overlook its effect on cholesterol.
Exercise is the most common way to handle stress, incidentally, exercise is also a very good way to get out of sedantry lifestyle and it is an almost sure fire way to reduce weight, both also a key contributor to unhealthy cholesterol level.Exercising gets your body moving and your mind off of problems and focused on the things you encounter as you exercise especially if you exercise outdoor in nature.
